• AlphaPlus Demonstrations Ontario: A huge database of instructional demonstrations created by literacy organizations across Ontario. Simply search for a topic you’re interested in using.
• The Literacy Project from Google: Google offers academic articles, books about adult literacy, literacy videos and much more.
• Kathy Schrock’s Guide for Educators: From discoveryschool.com; offers a goldmine of categorized websites and tools to create your own resources.
• Community Literacy of Ontario Literacy Basics: A free, self-directed online training website for Ontario literacy practitioners.
• AdultEd Online: This site contains free tools for teachers and administrators to identify classroom technology integration skills and create a professional plan based on specific needs. In addition, another free tool will help you assess distance teaching skills and potential.

Special Needs and Issues in Learning

• The Canadian Dyslexia Association: An overview of what dyslexia is along with links, resources and advocacy. Dyslexia-caused difficulties with the alphabet, reading, writing and spelling are common in spite of normal or above-normal intelligence and access to conventional teaching methods and educational opportunities. A genetic condition, dyslexia is a factor in 80% to 90% of identified learning disabilities.
• Snow: An online community service, provided by the Adaptive Technology Resource Centre at the University of Toronto. They offer articles, resources, news, and courses for anyone interested in learning about special education, adaptive technologies, inclusion, inclusive design, and web accessibility.
