What Else is Going On?

Our yard sale is taking place at the same time and place as ReBOOT Peterborough’s annual computer sale.

ReBOOT Peterborough’s Computer Sale is On!

Every summer, ReBOOT Peterborough hosts a huge used computer sale that offers complete systems for as low as $75. The COIN non-profit enterprise has been TVLA’s neighbour at 139 Douro Street ever since we moved here, and supply our computer hardware and technical support. Without them, TVLA wouldn’t be able to teach computer classes, connect the community to the internet or manage its business on staff computers. We’re grateful for their help, so we urge you to come out and take a look for yourself. Grab a system at a bargain!

ReBOOT’s computer sale runs August 14th from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM on site at 139 Douro Street – the same building as TVLA’s Learning Centre.

This year, the computers on sale are:

  • IBM Thinkcentre PCs
  • 2.4 Ghz processor
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 40 GB hard drive
  • Windows XP
  • OpenOffice productivity software (can read and edit MS Office files)
  • Preloaded antivirus and antispyware
  • Keyboard, mouse and monitor included
  • Space-saving workstation form factor
  • Ready to run “as is”
  • Just $75.00!

In addition to the sale, ReBOOT Peterborough sells affordable computers all year round and performs excellent service on virtually all types of laptops and desktops. For more information about the sale or ReBOOT’s other products and services visit them at 139 Douro Street (side door off the Rotary Trail), call (705)749-5815, visit its website at www.rebootpeterborougth.ca or email info@rebootpeterborough.ca.

Thanks to Activity Haven!

We just want to send out a big Thank You! to fellow community organization Activity Haven for donating a projector screen to TVLA. We plan on using it with a digital projector to improve the way we deliver audiovisual material to our students.

Activity Haven organizes courses for Peterborough community seniors ranging from oil painting to yoga. TVLA has been fortunate to also work with some of Activity Haven’s clientèle who have visited as both learners and volunteers. If you’re a Peterborough senior or know one, check them out!
